NFS Underground series

Post by o_broca »

Hello guys.

I was wondering here...
Do you intend to develop some DLL extension to NFS series? Specially Underground?
I have all titles since the first one.
It would be awesome!
Please let us know!

I swear... If you do that, I´ll be your most enthusiastic user, and I will tell everyone about that in every forum I found! And doing your marketing for G27 users.

Would be fun, but I believe there isn't a single Need for Speed that would allow us to support it.

Hello Bose!

Unfortunatly it´s true.
We have four generations of the game with many developers and distinct software houses.
You can read at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Need_for_speed these and other information, like year, plattaform, etc.
Anyway, do you think is it possible to develop?
There´s some way I can help you?
If you do, please let me know!

Thx in advance.

I'm a big fan of the NFS franchise myself, and would love to support all of the games, but I'm afraid it will not be possible. For us to support a game we need anything like an API or SDK or telemetry, or whatever you want it to call. I am not aware of this being present in any of the NFS games. There's an add-on for Shift 2, but that requires quite some tweaking and fiddling around for it to work, which is not worth it to us because the average joe doesn't have all that installed. That game in particular isn't really broadly played and/or popular and we are not going to spend time on it for that reason.

Without going in more detail, none of the NFS games natively support the information we need, because it's usually only present in the more realistic kind of game - which we know NFS is not. If you could dig up some hacks that would enable the information we need, without extensive hacking and whatnot, it would be great. But right now I'd say the chance of it happening is slim to none.
