Fanaleds for wind simulation

Post by goose83 »

Hi there

I have been inspired by this bloke: http://fergotech.net/diy-wind-simulation/

I want to do the same thing but I don't know anything about coding!

I have purchased the 12v fan, the arduino and the transistor.
I was thinking of using the speed data from fanaleds. That way, I was thinking, I got all racing games covered.

Are there any arduino experts who can help me?

That's something I haven't seen before.

Supporting little DIY projects for the Arduino would be great, but right now that would be beyond of the scope from Fanaleds. We do plan to support such projects, but I wouldn't count on it any time soon.

I wasn't proposing you to make a new software version (although that would be cool!), I was simply asking for someone to help me extract the speed data out of Fanaleds and put it in the arduino coding so the fan speed increases with the speed of a car.

We're considering some kind of data-export to serial, that way you'd be able to drive any arduino project with the lightest stack.

This will not be short-term however, because we have some more "popular" items on the to-do list.

So, is there no way I can extract the speed data out of Fanaleds the way it is now?

It's not possible to extract any information right now.
