CSW rev lights not working in iRacing

Post by Wonderboy46 »

Hi guys,

I have a brand new CSW with the latest firmware installed and the latest version of Fanaleds. I'm using Windows 8.

I can get the current gear to display on the Formula Rim's LED display in iRacing, but the rev lights don't seem to work. I have the native iRacing LED stuff turned off.

Do you have any idea how to get the rev lights to work?

The Fanaleds software seems to detect my CSW as "unknown Fanatec device." I wonder if that is related to this problem.

Looking forward to your response.

I have seen this problem floating around the iRacing forum lately... I might need to have a talk with Fanatec to ask about this.

As far as I know, installing driver version 152 for your wheels solves it: http://www.mediafire.com/?znpmjx4jhkkk7at

Let me know if that solves your problem.

Thanks Bose.

Is this a beta driver? Is it likely to create any other problems?

The latest version on Fanatec's site is v144.

I downloaded the driver you suggested and the lights work properly now.

Thanks for the help!

I don't know if it can cause problems. I'll email Fanatec about this.

It has developed a new problem now.

On the new driver, with Fanaleds enabled, everytime I go to brake, nothing happens. Then the wheels suddenly lock up as if the pedal is pressed all the way down even when my foot isn't on it.

Everything worked fine after I updated the driver initially. This new problem has only ocurred after restarting my PC.

That sounds bad. I hope I can get some information from Fanatec about it.

I seem to have solved this problem too.

It looked as if the pedal calibration in iRacing had "inverted." It seemed to think the pedal was at 100% pressure when my foot was NOT on it and at 0% pressure when my foot was pressed all the way down. Put simply, the sim was detecting exactly the opposite of whatever pressure I put into the pedal.

I re-calibrated the pedals in the iRacing configuration screen and this seemed to solve the problem.

On a slightly different topic. Could you guys make your pedal vibration stronger? When using Fanaleds, the ABS vibration is no way near as noticable as it is without your software installed.

I'm sorry, we can only turn it on or off. :(

I doubt that's possible, without modding the pedals or something.

Out of interest. Why is the vibration less strong than without the software?

If you're just turning the function on/off, shouldn't it be the same strength?
